SnOwY dAy

We faired well with the blizzard/Jonas/snow storm.  The storm started as snow for us on Friday afternoon, changed over to rain, sleet and snow, and then finally ended as snow on Saturday night.  We got about 7 inches when it was all said and done.  Thankfully we never lost power and managed to keep all of the boats floating.

Annual Ocean City Trip

Every January we pack up the family and head to Ocean City, Maryland for the annual Maryland Watermen's Trade Expo.  It's a long drive but is always a fun weekend!  Last year we bumped into a giant oyster that scared poor Molly to death.  This year we bumped into Captain Dave Marciano from the show Wicked Tuna.

A Sunny Saturday

The sun finally decided to make an appearance so I took advantage of the pretty weather!  Forrest had a short morning of oystering on private shore so the kids and I figured it was the perfect day to go out with him.

Brooks and Molly are showing more interest these days in helping Forrest and Brad.  Thankfully the older they get, the less they are in the way!  Molly was a champ at pulling out the grass for the guys.  Brooks was throwing shells back over.  I just stood in the way and took plenty of pictures!

Being bashful

Molly got a little snack...the lucky devil.  Forrest was culling oysters and happened to knock the oyster open with the cull hammer.  I was in the process of snapping pictures of said oyster and in comes a tiny gloved hand!  There's no way I can say no to a raw oyster loving 3 year old!

I'd say that's pretty fresh

Yum!

Family Turkey Project

My son was given a "Family Turkey Project" by his Kindergarten teacher.  He told us that he wanted oysters for his turkey feathers.  Ask and ye shall receive!

Virginia Watermen's Heritage Tours

In April of 2015, we went to the kick off for the Virginia Watermen's Heritage Tours at Merrior in Topping.  This program helps watermen get the word out to the public about booking Eco Tours.  We're happy to be on the list with some really great people.  Check out the Virginia Watermen's Heritage Tours website!

Working on an Autumn day

Some days you forget that you are lucky to call your "office" such a beautiful place!
